Globe’s customer service is now online with the new Chat Assist, WHY CAN'T DREAM HAVE IT TOO?

from Manila Times Thursday, 10 December 2009 Globe Telecom, a leading telecommunications company in the Philippines, launches Chat Assist, an online customer service assistance that can be accessed using the Globe website (www.globe.com.ph/support). Globe customers can get real-time customer service assistance including inquiries, requests and concerns about Globe’s products and services through the new Chat Assist.

---------------------------------

My comment:  SMART, PLDT, SUN, BANYAN, DREAM, GLOBAL, DESTINY, etc are you listening?  Many online businesses have adopted this years ago and I am pleased that finally Globe is showing the way to better customer service rather than holding a phone to your ear for ages and pressing through numerous buttons to get someone to listen to your concern!  GREAT IDEA!!!!!

DREAM HOW ABOUT A ONLINE PAYMENT AUTO SYSTEM TOO WHERE YOU JUST ENTER YOUR CARD NUMBER AND THE NEW LOAD CARD NUMBER TO AUTOMATICALLY RENEW ONLINE????

-----------------------------

“Globe Chat Assist expands our ability to provide excellent customer service to our subscribers because we are now able to serve them through more ways than one. So no matter where they are our subscribers can now connect to Globe from anywhere in the world” said Trina Henson, Head of the Customer Engagement Group of Globe.

A Globe Chat Assist Specialist is always ready to serve customers who are online so feedback on inquiries is immediate and concerns are resolved at the soonest possible time.

The launch of the new Chat Assist is in line with Globe’s thrust to put its customer first always and to provide them with superior customer experience. Also, it demonstrates Globe’s commitment to its mission to transform and enrich lives through communications.

The new online customer service is made possible by Fluxion Inc., a provider of interactive technology solutions.

The next time you are online and need assistance on any Globe service, simply log on to www.globe.com.ph/support and click on the Globe Chat Assist link. Continue reading here http://www.manilatimes.net/index.php/tech-times/7493-globes-customer-service-is-now-online-with-the-new-chat-assist-

Dream TV Satellite Philippines

Subject: Complaint about Dream Satellite bait and switch!

Dear NTC: I wish to lodge a complaint about Dream Satellite, Philippine Multi-Media System, Inc is/was? offering a 10 month 8900 (footnote 1) package that includes level 890 progamming for 10 months including SPORTS EPSN STAR SPORTS HBO CINEMAX (see footnote 2 of 890 premium channels offered ). Customers bought this package understanding that Dream would offer the 890 programming for 10 months to fulfill its contract with the customers. Now Dream has suddenly evidently decided to no longer offer the 890 package in total disregard to the advertised contract with customers for 10 months for the 890 package and has also not communicated that to 890 package holders by phone or email or newspaper advertisement or notice on its website. According to their website, (footnote 3) they are now offering only

Could this be breaking their contract with customers after they bought the 10 month 890 premium service or bait and then switch? Hopefully the Philippine NTC can resolve this matter with Dream Satellite, Philippine Multi-Media System, Inc so that the current 890 customers can get their current expiration dates extended for the lost amount of service from the now deleted 890 plan to the reduced new reduced premium 690 offerings from the time they made the change to only offer 690 about May 1 until the customers end of 10 month contract. And they should be required to phone each customer or email or post the advice on their website for those affected customers. Dream Satellite, Philippine Multi-Media System, Inc has not advised 890 customers of any changes in writing or ads in the newspapers and how they will resolve the difference with affected customers.

Thanking you for your action against for those 890 affected downgraded customers without notification from Dream Satellite, Philippine Multi-Media System, Inc and the extension of their 890 contracts from the date of the downgrade until the end of the contract to be extended under the 690 plan for this lost amount.

This is the same firm that never answers its dream.com.ph emails and has no skype number for internet savy customers, or even a cheap free Sun number or instant chat program online to make it easier for customers to make contact in this modern computer age they make you pay for long distance on the landline! With PLDT’s new satellite venture, it will give them even more competition besides the pirated signal problems and hopefully improve customer service.

Footnotes
1) Dream gives a 890 package 890 card deal for 10 months in this ad still on their website link here but they no longer have a 890 package and did not notify customers or put an ad in paper offering a refund or extension of contract to reflect reduced offeringshttp://www.dream.com.ph/press/promo_detail.asp?ID=49

2) the dream 890 package contains the following programs including SPORTS EPSN STAR SPORTS HBO CINEMAX see this link for details http://cgi.ebay.ph/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370209868887
3) Dream now only offers 690 and 390 packages since May 1 approximately. See their websitehttp://www.dream.com.ph/wannadream/Dream_Entertainment_Packages.asp?npage=11

Author : Charie Comment:
I would like to share my experience with DREAM SATELLITE TV.

My family was one of the first to purchase and enroll in DREAM’s pre-paid sat tv services in my hometown in Abra. So far, for the past 4 years, the only disruption we experienced would be when there are strong winds and heavy rains.

But last week, we discovered when we tried reload our monthly craedit, that our unit is due for replacement. But we cannot find a dealer in Abra or in the nearby provice of Ilocos Sur that has an available unit. I have called DREAM’s customer care center several times since August 1 but up to now, I have not received a favorable feedback. I just need to know when and where a replacement unit will be available.

My other sentiment is that DREAM failed to inform its consumers about the phasing out of old units. I understand that DREAM needs to do this to make its system more efficient and to clamp down on illegal subscribers. But according to DREAM’s customer agents, they informed the public through their website and through the running texts at the bottom of the screen. For me, this way of disseminating information is not efficient and effective. Customer should have been informed about this radical change when we reloaded our last month’s credit.

Barry,

Better be careful as there are many pirated boxes being sold now lately.

I have had Dream Sat TV for 3 years now and make no bones in complaining about their lack of serice, reduction of programing, etc, etc. They stink.

I am NOT sure of the cost of the current Dream installation costs…it was 11,500Php when I bought mine 3 years ago, which included the receiver, card, dish, 40 meters of cable and a one time connection/hook up, and manual. No extra splitters, no extra cable run….no pole (if needed). I needed one, plus more wire. I paid.

The monthly payments have been recently reduced (because they have droped a lot of good programing) to something like 360Php and 630Php depending upon what you want.

One way to check and see if you are buying a pirated receiver is to ask to see a flyer showing their available programing. They usualy don’t have any printed material at all, of any kind.

The monthly fee can be anywhere from zero cost, to a annual one-time charge of 600Php to as much as 1,000Php and every year thereafter.
Ask what is the tech’s cell phone number at the office, and where is the office you would take the receiver to for repairs….they usualy will not be able to give you anything except the person who is selling you the equipment own number.

What can I say….if it sounds “Too Good To Be True….”

Kenny, It kinda sounds like you bought a pirated system for a one time fee and no monthly payments.

With the “real” Dream purchase, you *WILL* have some sort of monthly payment, depending upon which of the 2 plans you opt for that they currently offer. But I’m suprised to hear a bonifide ‘name brand’ sales store would sell an unauthorized (pirated) system…..perhaps the salesman did it on his own without any payment going through the store’s register? Did you, yourself, call Dream to see if they show your sim card number as a ‘bonefide’ account?

Anyhow…..PLEASE! Can you give me any/all info on where I can find out more about receiving “Direct TV” here in ‘d Fils? Perhaps even just that brochure should have a Manila number….maybe? Does your salesman know anything more?

BTW – My Dream box is still working….but I’d dump them in a new York Second if I could!

see contact information below in the posting for contact information for dealers and Dream representatives, many pirated dealers and these go out of business regularly leaving you holding the bag!

THE operator of Dream Satellite TV is seeking the National Telecommunications Commission’s (NTC) help in stopping the illegal manufacture of its set-top boxes.

In a letter to NTC, Manuel Abellada, Philippine Multi-Media System Inc. (PMSI) president and chief operating officer, said organized groups operating within Metro Manila are illegally manufacturing, selling and distributing cloned or unauthorized Dream set-top boxes or receivers.
“We have received information that these unscrupulous individuals have been soliciting to its customer a one-time payment scheme with no monthly subscription cost, with a guarantee that these customers will be able to receive all the content/program offered by Dream on its channel list,” Abellada said.

The PMSI official wants the regulator to act with dispatch and coordinate with the appropriate law enforcement agencies to arrest the persons responsible and put a stop to the illegal operations that are undermining the company’s revenues.

The company has filed for corporate rehabilitation at Branch 149 of the Makati Regional Trial Court, with outstanding liabilities amounting to P1.15 billion.

There is no N3 on Dream TV. Dream TV is going bankrupt, it is sad but that’s what is happening. We have discussed this a year ago already. The Nagra 3 BS is propagated by thieves and con artists, so they can take whatever money is left from people, before Dream goes bust.

Dream TV owners have a horrible business sense. Sure you can blame pirates all you want, but the fact is that in terms of pricing, quality, etc, Dream is at a disadvantage. The Pay Package model is dead, only Super Rupert and friends can survive it, and that is only because such corporation like Rupert’s get most of their revenues elsewhere, and can afford to loose money with SKY for an extended time, and the quality of SKY’s package is far, very far from Dream.

Dream TV on the other hand have to make money with the package every time regardless of economic conditions and that is very hard to do, almost impossible.

Bye bye Dream Indeed. bankruptcy protection

Subject: Channels have disappeared

Hi there,

I have tried to communicate with my Dream TV provider about the loss of many important channels (HBO, ESPN, Star Sport, etc), but they keep saying to be patient: it will all come back after an upgrading.

But it is now 5 days ago and the problem still exists.
I have tried to call your service lines, but they are busy all the time.

I would like to know what is happening and when we will get the channels back on our TV. We have paid a lot of money for our annual smart card and the value has suddenly been reduced a lot.
I also wonder why Dream TV does not show any announcements on the TV Channels, thus leaving their customers in the dark.
I am also wondering how long the Agila 2 satellite will keep functioning, regarding its age and the things that went wrong when launched in 1997.

I am looking forward to a swift and clear answer to my questions: your reply or the lack of it) will be clearly communicated on the forums in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan regarding Dream TV.

Well I talk to Dream Philippines tonight and sorry to say , but only talking bullshit, we’ll not get the channels back and only 3days extra dreamload. Must say that if I treated my customers like they do, I will not have so many customers left.

Very dissapointed customer , who will go for starcable instead. Pretty sad, after 4yrs as a customer, Your EPG haven’t been working either for like a year and I have been promised to have calls , visits at my house , and new updated card sent to me and I have talked to customer service for 10 month about it 2 times a month and noone knows or do anything, even one guy told me that Dream dont even have a record over customers complaint, so anyone can go back and check what have happened to a complaint and if the customer have been helped.

Sorry but you will not get any HBO again on on Dream Satellite. There was not problem – they were lying. They dropped the channels just like they did in August of last year when they dropped 13 channels. I will be joining another company.

we will just switch to sky. i know it is better than this one. this crapy system and no value for their customers. they are so insensitive to the needs of their customer. no sports channel? oh come on get into your feet and realize. dropping those channels and replacing with useless one’s. we subscribe because we believe that dream can give us the things that we want but sad to say the company didn’t value it!

This is not an excuse….subscribers are paying for those channels and trusted Dream Satellite TV instead of the legacy Cable Companies because we the subscribers believe you can deliver better service but unfortunately…..NOT!!!…do not replace those good cahnnels with your “damn spares” channels….they are none sense!
